Crocodylus Park | Adelaide River Jumping Croc Cruise | Cornucopia Museum Cafe

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets are just the thing for a family or romantic evening watching the magnificent sunsets from the beach. Sample the sumptuous food from stalls that are dotted along the beachfront, and pick up a bargain to take home with you.

For those who like to tan every square centimetre of their bodies, there is a section of beach set aside for this purpose - so if this is your thing, head for Casuarina Beach .
A word of warning - don't forget the sun screen - unless you fancy looking like the lobster you ate for dinner last night!

South of Darwin is Litchfield National Park which is famous for its waterfalls and jungle at the bottom of the falls.

Territory Wildlife Park located at Berry Springs is an eyepopping day of amazing creatures of the Northern Territory. There are regular daily displays, as well as exhibits such as a walk-through aviary, a monsoonal forest walk, wetlands area, goose lagoon, and so much more. Allow at least 4 hours here, if not the whole day.
There is a kiosk at the park, or you can take your own food and have a most amazing picnic.

Howard Springs sports a crocodile free swimming hole, while you can visit with real crocodiles at the Darwin Crocodile Farm, where after the feeding , you can sample croc steaks and see the products of this working croc farm.

Adelaide River is another great place to take a cruise to see crocs in their natural state. There is also an exciting 'feeding' of the crocs, where meat is suspended from long poles, and you can be awed at the height a crocodile can reach when leaping for food. Whatever you do, don't forget the camera or video recorder.

Maybe about now you are feeling quite exhausted after your full days adventures, so head on back to Shady Glen Tourist Park to relax and refresh for the next exciting installment in your Northern Territory holiday adventure.

AQUASCENE at Doctors Gully in the heart of Darwin is a unique attraction where you can feed dozens of fish species by hand. The fish flock to the shore at high tide and you can stand amongst them, feeding them by hand.

National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame gives an insight into the lives of the women who were our early pioneers. Despite the movies that might show otherwise, where would the men have been, without strong womenfolk to lean on?

Feel like having a good meal at a cafe or restaurant? Then head on over to Darwin's Wharf Precinct where you can eat in style, after visiting the many quality shops. You can also visit the Indo-Pacific Marine and Australian Pearling Exhibition.

Sharks and crocodiles can be found at Mandorah Beach which is also an excellent place to fish.

Vestey's Beach is another popular beach, but as always, please check with locals because if sharks or crocs aren't there, deadly stingers might be. There are safe places to swim, but you need local knowledge to guide you.

Visit the Fannie Bay Gaol which operated as a gaol and labour prison from 1883 to 1979 and get an insight into the areas history, or visit Lyons Cottage which is also an exhibit of the Overland Telegraph Line.

The Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory has a gallery of information about Cyclone Tracy, Aboriginal Art and South East Asian Art. Many more exhibits so allow yourself plenty of time to explore them all.

There is so much more to see and do, both local to Darwin and just beyond, but we have no hope of covering it all on this page. Please visit our Tours Section on arrival and ask our helpful staff for advice and local knowledge on the best places to visit. Sight seeing tours and brochures on local attractions in the Darwin and Northern Territory area are available to you simply by asking.
